Better

After my low of last night, I was only 74 this morning.  In a non-diabetic person this number sounds fine, but that feels just a little too close to a crash for me.  I can not eat right when I get up.  I need at least 30 - 45 minutes before I can stomach anything and and hour or so is even better.   I took one glucose tab (usually I treat with 3 - 4 for a low) and took a shower.  I've had breakfast now, so I'm feeling better.  I think I'll take my meter to work today, I'm just feeling a little too fragile.

Busy day today.  Big Moves fundraiser, A Taste for Dance, is tomorrow.  If you're local, you've probably received an email from me.  It's a fun, "all you can eat" chocolate and performance event.  If you're just cruising LJ's and you want more info go to http://www.bigmoves.org/sanfran.html.  My lovely, flowing, chocolate fountain will be there plus lots of delicious sweets - on and off the stage!

You're supposed to be calling me or [livejournal.com profile] serenejournal when you have lows like that, young lady! (shakes finger)

or me.

did you read up on that unrecognized hypoglycemia thing?

the main recommendation was to spend the next 2 weeks keeping your numbers higher than you normally do to kick start your body's awareness functions.

ahem.

I did read it. I have plenty of highs and I do reconize lows, so I'm not sure if I can/want to keep my numbers higher. I'm don't know why I'm swinging so much.

*hanging my head, shrugging my shoulders, while kicking at the non-existent dirt at my feet* I know my judgment is off when I'm low, but I have, so far, always recognized it and immediately started treating it. Plus Gilly and I were the only ones awake last night and she said to stop my whining, eat something and go to bed. 8-)

Off Topic - clothes

I have a bag full of clothes, mostly shirts, that I got off of Freecycle. They're mostly 5X, new or may-as-well-be (some still have tags on them). It's been a couple weeks since I went through them, but the main thing I remember is 5 or 6 of the same button down shirt, white with some-color stripe, each shirt a different stripe color. There's other stuff too, including some women's suit jackets. Do you have any interest, for you or [livejournal.com profile] dbubley?

I'll take a look at them, or take all of them if you're just trying to get rid of them. We'll either use them or I'll pass them on. Thanks.
