I love fireworks. The last few years we have tried several different places and have either not had a good view or had to deal with truly awful traffic (over 1 hour to get out of a 3 deck parking lot.) Tonight
dbubley and I decided to just hang out in our driveway and watch the local backyard pyrotechnics.
stonebender preferred to stay warm and at his computer. And they were really, really fun. Some were loud, some were zigzaggy and some exploded over our head with a little of the debris falling in our yard. And they lasted several hours. We had at least 3 locations a few blocks over that put lots of money and time into setting these things off.
The only part I don't like about these illegal fireworks is knowing that some people will end up in the ER with injuries. And I also wonder about folks who have been in war situations and how they feel when their neighborhood is alight in noise and the cloud from the explosives. They didn't choose to go to a fireworks display - it all just descends on their home. And they are very, very loud. Poor Gilly alternated between running around the house barking and velcroing herself to the nearest human.
Even so I still love fireworks.
