We would have called the elevator repair company and let them figure it out. I'm sure there IS some way to get it down, but it would have been a much longer wait for them. The firemen were there within 10 minutes of the call and it took them less than 30 minutes to figure out what they could and couldn't do and then get her out of there. I knew the elevator company would have taken at least 2 hours to get a crew out there. So stonebender would have been hanging out a lot longer.
If it was going to break, I'm glad it didn't happen with stonebender and I guess it's better it happened with my family than with a student. Of course, first choice - that the damn thing would work all the time. It's broken down a few times, just never with a person in it.
