Friday Night

stonebender and I have tickets to a play in Palo Alto tomorrow night.  It's at Dragon Theater and one of my co-worker is in it.  We're planning on driving down early enough to have dinner before the play, which is at 8 pm.  Anyone have any recommendations for a restaurant or if you're in the area and want join us for dinner.  With the exception of Indian food (which I don't care for), we're pretty open to most other cuisines.  Info about the show is here, http://www.dragonproductions.net/showinfo_underpants.htm

My standard recommendation in that neighborhood is Indian, alas, so I am not much help here. I do know a good (by Bay Area standards) Chicago-style pizza place, Patxi's, but that is maybe less interesting to you, since you live on the side of the bay with Zachary's. :-) There's also a Thai place on University, Siam Royal, which I used to really like, but (a) I haven't been there in years, and (b) I'm not actually a big Thai-food fan in general, so what is good in my view might not be what most people want when they go for Thai food.

I suppose there's that Mediterranean place that we all wound up in after Serene's poetry reading...

Anyway, I would happily eat just about anywhere if it meant getting to hang out with the two of you, so if you are interested in dinner company, by all means count me in. :-)

So sorry we missed your comment, it would have been great to see you. We left about the time you posted. We had a wonderful time. We went to a small German restaurant about a block from the theater. I think the name was Elbe. The food was very good and they had live music. It was accordion, kind of trippy, but it fit with everything else.

The play was a farce and except for the ending, it was good. We both felt the last 10 minutes needed to either be cut or re-written. All-in-all, a good evening.
