I took the oath of office yesterday and today my supplies came. I am a notary. It's weird with the timing, if I do get laid off maybe I can be a traveling notary. And it's something to put on my resume too, I guess.

Second, they finally closed on the other property so we can now take possession of the new parcel. I have a bunch of calls to do around house stuff and now finding the fence person so we can actually see and walk on our new property has just popped to the top of the list. I can't wait to see the first time Gilly gets to explore the new area.

I don't want to be unemployed but there is this little part of me that would be happy to get out of the mess that my job feels like right now. And then there's this other part of me that wonders what it would be like to not work. I have had a job since I was 17 years old (I'm 48 now, you do the math.) The only breaks were the 3 years I was in college, then I only worked when I came home on long weekends, holidays and the summer. I've never been off for more than 3 weeks and that only happened twice when I took vacation time to drive cross country. So what would it feel like to have no work commitments. No deadlines. No co-workers. No office. And of course NO paycheck. A mixed bag, eh?
