Eight years ago today, my mom died.  I missed her yesterday, I missed her today and I'll miss her tomorrow.  I suspect there will never come a day when I won't miss her.

Hugs from me as well. I still miss my Mom and it has been 12 years. You will probably always miss her, and you will honor her by being the giving, loving person you are.

I can only echo the lovely thoughts already here - the wonderful woman you are speaks volumes about your mother. She brought a splendid human being into this world.

I share your loss - I know not a day goes by when I don't acutely feel the loss of my mother, too. May your mother always be a guiding spirit in your life!

I can't believe it has been that long ago that we sat in your bedroom and cried shortly after she died.

I've been dreaming about my mother a lot, and find myself saying that my relationship with her is changing. how can that be, she's no longer alive. but the relationship lives on, and I am comforted to know it will live on for the rest of my life.

Bittersweet.

and how a secular atheist makes sense of these things!

Jewish people burn a Yahrzeit candle on this anniversary date - the candle is designed to burn for 24 hours. I'm glad you took the time to mark this date by making this post.

*kisses*

It's such a universal sense of loss. I will also try to call both my sisters tonight. It's another way we mark the date.
