What do you get when you pit one stubborn human against an equally stubborn dog . . . Tug of War at 3 am that ended in a tie with both of them exhausted and ready for bed.
Well, it does help that Guy has all his teeth and Miss Gilly is missing about 1/4 of hers from the cancer last year. She doesn't pull quite as hard as she use to. That's not to say that she doesn't pull me across the room when I'm in my office chair.
You just gave me big smile to start the day. What a hoot! Makes me wish I had someone around to play tug of war to tire me out when I'm having one of my bouts of insomnia at 3 or 4! (Much more fun than reruns of whatever's on cable!)
Gilly (and most dogs) are great that way - noon, 5pm, 1am or 4 am - it's all the same to her. When the humans want to play, she's locked, loaded and ready to go!
They are both just adorable! I have to admit that I might have suddenly let go just to see if Gilly would've flown across the room. Good for Guy for hanging on!
It's the newest dog toy; a fluffy boxing glove with a rope loop on the end. Perfect for tug-of-war. Since she can no longer flatten a basketball, she hasn't had a tug toy. She was happy from the first moment I shook it at her. I've also looped it through Guy's seat belt and he can spin her around the room.
